A hydromatic sump pump is a pump used to remove water from a sump basin. Sump basins are often found in the lowest point of a building, such as a basement, to collect and discharge water that has accumulated from rainfall or melted snow. Hydromatic sump pumps are also used in septic tank effluent applications to pump the effluent from the septic tank to the absorption field.
Hydromatic sump pumps are available in a variety of configurations, including submersible, pedestal, and solids handling. Submersible sump pumps are designed to be submerged in the sump basin, while pedestal sump pumps are designed to sit outside of the sump basin. Solids-handling sump pumps are designed to pump water that contains solids, such as septic tank effluent.
Hydromatic sump pumps are powered by electricity and typically have a float switch that activates the pump when the water level in the sump basin reaches a certain point. The float switch turns the pump on and off as needed to keep the water level from rising too high.
Hydromatic sump pumps have many benefits, including:
Hydromatic sump pumps are an effective and efficient way to remove water from a sump basin. They are easy to install and require no maintenance, making them a cost-effective solution for basement waterproofing.
